Artist's Comments

This is really old! So old this poor guy has a moth hole in his face >.<...I made him over a decade ago, literally! I still have my hand drawn pattern stashed in my files though.

He is based off of a vintage toy that my mother got on the board walk as a child. I drafted a pattern that was similar in shape to the original toy, however I enlarged it slightly.

The material is actually a piece of vintage wool that I fulled a bit before using it in this plush (I use to be big into finding old fabric at garage sales to make plushies out of, to give them a vintage look). The fabric is a mint green with tiny tan flecks in it, sounds gross but it looks really cute.

I had pretty much entirely forgotten he existed until I saw this post: Frankie the Dachshund by :iconinnocentfreespirit: and by the sounds of it, hers was also inspired by a vintage version! I noticed hers is constructed a bit different, mainly the tummy being one panel where mine is two. I really like her version, you should all check it out!

Awe thanks so much for the recognition!
It was a vintage pattern that my future mother-in-law gave me on Mother's Day. I have no idea how old it is, but i photocopied the pattern pieces so i didn't have to ruin the originals.
And I love your version! You embroider noses better than me! That's why i mostly use buttons.
Oh and i love your idea of using boardwalk prizes. Some of them are really cute but of poor quality, so why not use them as patterns?

Thanks again! :D
